Mt. Shasta’s Smokin’ Powder, Ski Touring on the West Side!

Update: 2-28-11 @ 0730 hrs.

While the snow is just beginning to fall, winds have picked up in the last 12 hours, averaging 16 mph and gusting to 35 mph out of the WSW. For today expect winds to be 20-30 mph with gusts up to 65mph (WSW) above treeline. Winds area expected to continue with this storm and we could see up to 6-8 inches of snow by tomorrow. This raises concern for wind loading on N and E aspects. Use caution… –Meyers
