McArthur~Burney Falls State Park and Lassen Volcanic National Park

This week~Road Trip!

My friend Jude and I headed to McArthur-Burney Falls State Park, Hat Creek Valley and Lassen National Park.

Burney Falls

McArthur-Burney Falls State Park  is one of those places that has to be on the check off list.

It’s absolutely beautiful with camping, hiking trails, boating, exploring and having fun!

Lassen Peak~North Side

This is one of my favorite National Parks. It has a unique diversity of flora and fauna with it being part of the Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada Range and the Great Basin Range.

Lake Helen

Most of the trails are snow free now.

Next, we headed over to the southeast side of the park~Juniper Lake and Warner Valley.

Juniper Lake

Great camping and hiking trails in this section of the park.

A bit more secluded and rugged.

Sunrise~Juniper Lake

Our next stop~Warner Valley. This area is another hidden jewel with Drakesbad Guest Ranch. This is a secluded getaway nestled within the boundaries of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Check it out~

Hiking trails to lakes and unique geological sites can be found here.

Devil's Kitchen~It's Steaming!

This is Lassen’s second largest hydrothermal (hot water) area. Bumpass Hell is the largest area in the park.

Jude Having Fun!

This is definitely a place I want to go back too. So much to explore!

Lassen Peak from Hat Creek Rim Overlook

On the way back, we stopped at the Hat Creek Rim Overlook off of Highway 44.

Last week I had to a chance to drive around the mountain and check out conditions.

Ash Creek

The road around the mountain is passable. A high clearance vehicle is recommended.

Northeast side of Mt. Shasta

The weekend is looking good with sunny warm weather.

Have a great weekend!
