Wanna Climb Mt. Shasta?

Mt. Shasta is known worldwide for the climbing it has to offer with spectacular glaciers, unique terrain and rewarding views. There are non-technical to technical and very challenging routes. Let me help plan your climb with the best route and guide for your climbing abilities.

Avalanche Gulch~John Muir Route

Avalanche Gulch~John Muir Route

The Avalanche Gulch route is the most popular route on the mountain. It is best to climb this route when there’s snow usually between April and late July. This year with our snow pack, the earlier the better. Most people climb this route in either 2 or 3 days.

All climbs include professional instruction, crampon and ice-ax instruction, group equipment including tents, stoves, climbing harnesses, passes and permits.

2 day climb is a more strenuous climb and requires good physical condition. Dates available -June 20-21, 28-29 and July 5-6. Cost per person is $550.00.

3 day climb is a more relaxed pace with ample time to learn crampon use, ice-ax and self arrest techniques. Dates available June 20-22, 27-29, July 5-7, 11-13,  18-20,  25-27. Cost per person is $650.00.

4 day climb is a moderate approach to mountaineering spending extra time on skills, acclimating and enjoying being on the mountain. Dates available  July 18-21. Cost per person is $750.00.

Hidden Valley~West Route Route

Hidden Valley~West Route Route

Hotlum/Bolam Route

Clear Creek Route

Clear Creek Route

This route is located on the east side of the mountain and is the least technical of all the routes. It’s very beautiful along the way with views of Mud Creek Falls and the Konwakition Glacier. There are snowfields along the way and the upper Wintun Glacier requiring crampon and ice-ax technique. This is a good choice late in the season or dry years for a strenuous yet non technical summit ascent. Dates available are July 5-7, 11-13, 18-20, August 1-3, 15-17, 22-24, Sept. 5-7.
