Mt. Shasta’s Magical Side!

The north side of Mt. Shasta is one of my favorite places to visit and ski!

This side of the mountain offers unique geology with it’s glaciers, crevasses and fun skiing!

Hotlum Glacier Route

This is a great climbing route on the mountain.

It is in great shape right now and will most likely hold throughout the summer months.

11,000 ft.

Snow is still smooth and delightful for skiing from 9,000 ft. and above.

From the trailhead, it is about a 45 minute boot up before reaching continuous snow.

It’s that time of year to go climb and ski the north side of Mt. Shasta!

North Gate Trailhead

The road is completely clear of snow up to the trail head. A matter of fact we had to hike to around 8,000 ft. before reaching snow. For more information check out my book, “Mount Shasta Guide to Fun”.
