Snow Conditions on Mt. Shasta!

We’ve been getting snow all weekend and it looks like more throughout the week!

Up, Up, Up

Up, Up, Up

Coverage is good from Bunny Flat up.

Still be careful and cautious with rocks and logs showing.

Sun peaking out!

We received over 2 feet of snow and more higher.

Be avalanche aware. Snow still needs time to settle.

Sticking to ridges and staying out of avalanche zones is the way to go.

Wanna go to the best places on the mountain, let me be your guide!

I would like to dedicate this post to my good friend and ski partner Ed!

Many of the backcountry and mountaineering community have run into Ed one time or another somewhere…Mt. Shasta, Lassen Peak, the Tetons, Mt. Rose and the list goes on!

This past week he passed away after a long battle with leukemia. He skied every chance he got and lived the life of a true backcountry skier. I always thought of Ed as the Energizer Bunny. He just kept going and going and going! Afterwards with celebration of beer, hot dog sausages and potato chips.

We spent a lot of time over at Lassen Volcanic National Park!
